Ryan & Emily's Story

In loving memory of Eddie

A Light That Came Too Soon

Ryan and Emily's journey is one of immense love, heartbreaking loss, and extraordinary courage. When they lost their precious baby Eddie, their world was turned upside down. The grief of losing a child is unlike anything imaginable and yet, through the darkest of times, Ryan and Emily found a way to carry Eddie's memory forward with purpose, love and hope.

Eddie may not have had the chance to begin his journey in this world, but his presence has been felt deeply by everyone who knows his family. He is loved, he is remembered, and through this event, his name will live on.

“We wanted to do something that celebrated Eddie's life and brought the people we love together. Evening 4 Eddie is our way of turning grief into something beautiful.”

— Ryan & Emily

A Story of Hope

In the time that followed, Ryan and Emily faced another pregnancy with a mixture of excitement, hope and understandable anxiety. Throughout this journey they were supported by the incredible Preterm Prevention Team at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire a group of dedicated professionals whose care, compassion and expertise helped bring two healthy twins safely into the world.

The support of that team meant everything. In some of the most anxious and emotional moments Ryan and Emily have ever faced, the UHCW team were a constant source of reassurance, professionalism and genuine human kindness. They were, and continue to be, true heroes.

Going the Extra Mile

Climbing Snowdon for Eddie

As part of their fundraising efforts and as a personal tribute to Eddie, Ryan and Emily — along with their incredible friend Zoe — took on one of Wales' greatest challenges and climbed Mount Snowdon together.

Standing at 1,085 metres, Snowdon is the highest peak in Wales and a formidable challenge for any walker. But for Ryan, Emily and Zoe, every step of that climb was taken with Eddie in their hearts — a physical expression of love, determination and the strength it takes to keep going in the face of grief.

The climb was not just a fundraising challenge it was a moment of togetherness, of remembrance, and of showing that no matter how steep the path ahead, they would face it together. We are incredibly proud of everything Ryan, Emily and Zoe achieved on that mountain.

Why Evening 4 Eddie

Ryan and Emily created Evening 4 Eddie because they wanted to do something meaningful with their grief — something that brought joy, raised vital funds and gave everyone who loves them a chance to come together in Eddie's honour.

The event brings together a day of golf, an awards ceremony, a raffle with incredible prizes, a buffet and an evening celebration. But more than anything, it is a day to remember Eddie, to support two extraordinary causes, and to show Ryan and Emily just how much they are loved.

Thank you for being part of it. Your presence here means the world to them.

“Forever in our hearts. Forever our little star.”
